Senior Program


At this level, high school aged swimmers who want to advance and mature in swimming, but don't meet the criteria for the Senior Select or the National Training Group will find this Program a versatile level. The Senior Program offers flexibility with extensive training. Swimmers will continue to build skills and fitness levels throughout the season towards school and summer league success.

Note that practice schedules and locations are subject to minor changes prior to the season beginning, during the first few weeks of the season and during the high school swim team season due to pool space availability. Please refer to the weekly newsletter for updates.

Senior Practices

Each practice is 60 ~ 90 minutes long and includes dry land training. Practices focus on:

  • Stroke development & refinement.
  • Endurance building to prepare for high school events.
  • Race strategy & swim meet preparation.


Schedule

Practices start on 9/11/2023 and concludes 5/23/2024. Swimmers in this group will have the option to join the Summer Add-On Program (TBA) throughout June and July.

Contract/Tuition Information

The Senior Programs' contract length is 9 months.


9-month contracts have four payment options:

  • 1 Pay: (payment in full): $3,475
  • 3 Pay: (3 installments): $1,173
  • 9 Pay: ( 9 installments): $401

Senior Program Criteria

Registration for the Senior Program requires an Occoquan Swimming coach's approval.


Age: Swimmers 14 to 18 years old (as of January 1, 2024).


Competence: Can swim 500 yards freestyle without stopping and complete a 200 IM maintaining great stroke skills throughout.


Expectations: Background in competitive swimming.

We use abbreviations for our different locations groupings. Upon registering, please be sure to sign up for your preferred practice location. Not all locations offer all programs.

Competitive Aspirations

Swim meets will be offered about every 4-6 weeks. We encourage swimmers to the Senior Program to attend competitions regularly.

Commitment Requirements:

We recommend attending at least up to 6 practices per week, including at least 2 dry land practices per week to progress within the program. Coaches will track attendance to keep every swimmer accountable.
