Age Group Champs 2 Program

At this level, swimmers experience a consistent background of training and competition. Each swimmer in this level continue to perfect their skills with advanced techniques while enhancing strength and endurance to swim faster and longer distances.

Age Group Champs 2 Practices

Each practice is 90 minutes long and includes dry land training. Practices focus on:

Stroke development & refinement.
Endurance building to prepare for longer races.
Race strategy & swim meet preparation.
Learning advanced skills and disciplines

Age Group Champs 2 Criteria

Registration for the Age Group Champs 2 Program requires an Occoquan Swimming coach approval.

Age: Swimmers 11 to 14 years old (as of January 1, 2024).

Competence: Swimmers in the Age Group Champs 2 Program must complete the entrance training required sets consistently and with exceptional form throughout. Swimmers in this program should also have an IMX score to show that they can train towards all 4 competitive strokes.

Expectations: Swimmers should have a background in competitive swimming and are expected to attend competitions that are recommended by their coach and commit to swimming with OCCS as a primary sport throughout the duration of the season.

Contract/Tuition Information

The Age Group Champs 2 Programs' contract length is 11 months.

11-month contracts have four payment options:

1 Pay: (payment in full): $4,825
3 Pay: (3 installments): $1,623
9 Pay: ( 9 installments): $551
11 Pay: (11 installments): $454

Competitive Aspirations

Swim meets will be offered about every 4-6 weeks. We expect swimmers to the Age Group Champs 2 Program to attend competitions regularly.

Commitment Requirements:

We require attending at least 6 plus 2 dry land practices per week to progress within the program. Coaches will track attendance to keep every swimmer accountable.

Practices start on 9/11/2023 and conclude the last week of July.

Note that practice schedules and locations are subject to minor changes prior to the season beginning, during the first few weeks of the season and during the high school swim team season due to pool space availability. Please refer to the weekly newsletter for updates.
